我们的中学老师整合科学, 技术, 工程, 艺术与数学 in an interdisciplinary 和 applied approach throughout the 中学 curriculum. Students learn both core content areas as well as work across disciplines to 应用 their learning. 

在中学, each qu艺术er students get to answer a driving question that requires a creative real-world solution. Students are encouraged to acquire knowledge 和 skills through investigation, 集成, synthesis 和 协作 on projects with other students. Teachers also integrate this same design-thinking 和 design-oriented projects into their core subjects throughout the year.

Our 中学 has a large Design Lab for student 协作 和 projects as well as state-of-the 艺术 equipment like laser cutters, 数控路由器, 3 d打印机, 还有电动工具. This gives our students the h和s-on skills they need for many high tech careers.

Students worked in teams to develop a complex game incorporating concepts from at least one of the content areas. Students began the interdisciplinary unit by playing games to get to know one another 和 to look for commonalities 和 specific traits of games. They then learned about game theory in design class 和 created their own rubric for project evaluation in Language Arts. 在那里,他们组成团队进行创作, 测试, 和 perfect their own game based on content learning from the first qu艺术er. Project #2: How can we ensure that the things in our community that we love remain or are improved for future generations?

This unit began with a visit from the Lancaster County Planning Commission to underst和 how l和 planning works 和 what priorities they have. Students then analyzed their own “communities” to underst和 how space is used 和 what needs there are. They also named points of concern that must be addressed for future sustainability. LM offers design-thinking framework in the curriculum 和 necessary skills to prepare students to problem-solve, 合作, 和 think critically as they prepare for success in their careers.In addition LM provides extracurricular clubs, sports 和 competitions to p艺术icipate in.
